چکیده

The semi-parametric Cox proportional hazards (PH) regression model was developed by Sir David Cox (Cox 1972) and is by far the most popular model for survival analysis. The model defines a hazard function, which is the rate of an event occurring at any given time, given the observation is still at risk, as a function of the observed covariates. When data consist of independent and identically distributed observations, the parameters of the Cox PH model are estimated using the partial likelihood (Cox 1975) and the Breslow estimator (Breslow 1974).

Pseudo full likelihood estimation for prospective survival analysis with a general semiparametric shared frailty model: asymptotic theory

In this work we present a simple estimation procedure for a general frailty model for analysis of prospective correlated failure times. Earlier work showed this method to perform well in a simulation study. Here we provide rigorous large-sample theory for the proposed estimators of both the regression coefficient vector and the dependence parameter, including consistent variance estimators.

Prospective survival analysis with a general semiparametric shared frailty model - a pseudo full likelihood approach

1 Summary In this work we provide a simple estimation procedure for a general frailty model for analysis of prospective correlated failure times. Rigorous large-sample theory for the proposed estimators of both the regression coefficient vector and the dependence parameter is given, including consistent variance estimators. In a simulation study under the widely used gamma frailty model, our pr...

frailtyEM: An R Package for Estimating Semiparametric Shared Frailty Models

When analyzing correlated time to event data, shared frailty (random effect) models are particularly attractive. However, the estimation of such models has proved challenging. In semiparametric models, this is further complicated by the presence of the nonparametric baseline hazard. Although recent years have seen an increased availability of software for fitting frailty models, most software p...

A Frailty Model Approach for Regression Analysis of Bivariate Interval-censored Survival Data

Owing to the fact that general semiparametric inference procedures are still underdeveloped for multivariate interval-censored event time data, we propose semiparametric maximum likelihood estimation for the gamma-frailty Cox model under mixed-case interval censoring. We establish the consistency of the semiparametric maximum likelihood estimator (SPMLE) for the model parameters, including the ...

Case-control Survival Analysis with a General Semiparametric Shared Frailty Model: a Pseudo Full Likelihood Approach1 by Malka Gorfine,

In this work we deal with correlated failure time (age at onset) data arising from population-based, case-control studies, where case and control probands are selected by population-based sampling and an array of risk factor measures is collected for both cases and controls and their relatives. Parameters of interest are effects of risk factors on the failure time hazard function and within-fam...
